GDA announces new Chair and Board Members

The GDA is delighted to announce Mr John McCarthy as the new Chairperson of the GDA Board.

Mr McCarthy brings a wealth of public sector experience, having served as Secretary General of the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government (2014-2020), and including key roles within the Department of Social Protection and Department of Finance. He currently holds a position on the Board of the Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority.

We are also pleased to welcome two new members to the GDA Board as appointed by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. Mr John Vaudin and Mr Andrew Muckian each bring extensive expertise and strategic oversight across a number of key areas and join the Board for a three-year term.

The Agency would like to thank Prof. Terri Scott for assuming the role of Interim Chair while the recruitment process was underway. Her leadership over the past few months has been instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition and operational continuity during this period of change.

We look forward to working with our new Chair and Board members to drive forward the implementation of our new Five-Year Strategy and shape the evolution of the Agency.
