Ray McAdam

Ray McAdam, recently elected Lord Mayor of Dublin, is a dedicated public servant with over 16 years of experience as a Dublin City Councillor, now serving his fourth term. A prominent figure within Fine Gael, Ray has led the party on the Council across two terms—eight years in total—and currently chairs the Protocol Committee. His leadership has extended across key roles, including Chair of the Planning & Urban Form Strategic Policy Committee and the Dublin Central Area Committee. He has also served on the Corporate Policy Group and remains an active board member of the Grangegorman Development Agency and DublinTown.

Ray’s political career began in 2007 alongside Minister Paschal Donohoe, advising on policy, leading constituency campaigns, and helping to secure successful election outcomes. In 2009, he became the first Fine Gael Councillor elected in Dublin’s North Inner City in 25 years—and in 2024, he made history again by topping the poll in the ward, a first for Fine Gael.

Throughout his career, Ray has remained focused on strong local representation, championing sustainable urban development, and delivering meaningful results for the communities of Dublin’s North Inner City.
