Residential Care Neighbourhood
Overview
The Residential Care Neighbourhood will be situated in the northeast corner of the site, adjacent to the Primary Care Centre, on grounds with a rich history that once featured a 19th-century farmhouse and, more recently, St. Elizabeth’s Court, a 20-bed mental health facility operated by the HSE since the 1970s.
As part of the redevelopment, St. Elizabeth’s Court will be demolished, and its services integrated into a modern facility designed to provide high-quality, full-time care for older residents. The new purpose-built development will include a 95-bed Community Nursing Unit, featuring a 20-bed dementia household, a 10-bed mental health hostel, a daycare center serving both residents and the wider community, as well as administration offices, a pharmacy, and underground parking for 60 vehicles, all designed to foster a supportive, inclusive environment.
