Prussia Street Gate
Overview
The Prussia Street Gateway will create a new public entrance to the Grangegorman campus from the west, reconnecting it with the Stoneybatter community for the first time since the 18th century. This gateway will extend the Serpentine Walk and St Brendan’s Way, forming a key east-west pedestrian and cycle route that enhances accessibility and aligns with the Grangegorman Planning Scheme and Strategic Plan objectives.
Initially serving as a temporary haul road during construction with a shared pedestrian and cycle path, it will later become a permanent public link with emergency and service vehicle access only. The 9-metre-wide, 100-metre-long corridor runs along the campus’s western boundary, north of No. 24 Prussia Street and adjacent to St Joseph’s Road. The gateway will complete the campus’s pedestrianised public realm with quality paving, landscaping, and secure access.
