Print Making Workshop
Overview
The Printmaking Workshop reflects a legacy of adaptation, innovation, and creative reuse. Originally based in the university’s former art and design facilities at Mountjoy Square, the workshop relocated to the Grangegorman campus in 2015.
Its first home on the new site was the North House, part of the Grangegorman Development Agency’s adaptive reuse program for historic buildings. To better align with the School of Art and Design, the workshop later moved to a purpose-built, temporary structure adjacent to the East Quad—a dedicated Fine Art Printmaking studio.
This project was the first Near Zero Carbon building on the Grangegorman site and has been recognized for its innovative design, earning shortlist nominations for its designers, including the prestigious European Mies van der Rohe Award.
