SIPR works in progress 2014 New public realm opened and in use 2015
The Site Infrastructure and Public Realm (SIPR) project is a massive undertaking which covers the entire Grangegorman site and consists of the laying of all utility services, major earthworks and development of the public realm – paths, roads, green areas, lighting, seating, bike parking, etc.
Phase one of this contract has delivered the initial public realm which allowed the first 1,000 DIT students to come onsite in September 2014. As well as delivering all of the site’s utility services, this project has also delivered a new surface water pipe connection to Smithfield as required by Dublin City Council and all of the new outdoor sports facilities.
Programme
Onsite in November 2013, phase one was completed in summer 2015.
