Pathway 6: Lending & Acquisitions
During the lifetime of ‘…the lives we live’, the Public Art Working Group will assist in developing policies and exploring avenues to secure the temporary relocation of artworks to the Grangegorman urban quarter. These may be sources from public or from private collections. Currently and in process for location on the Grangegorman site are;
- Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in partnership with Technological University Dublin (DIT at the time) have signed an agreement for the loan of The Axe (and the waving girl) – Alice Maher. This work is currently on site in the Cultural Garden outside the Greenway Hub.
- Primary Care Centre. Coinciding with the opening of the new Health Service Executive (HSE) Primary Health Care Centre on site and after an open and curatorial process, nine artists have been invited to situate site-specific works in this new healthcare building. The artists include: David Beattie, Mary Burke, Alan Counihan, Gemma Fitzpatrick, Helena Gorey, Marie Holohan, Fergus Martin, Julie Merriman and Dorothy Smith.
