Pathway 5: International Public Art Conference
Public Art Now
This international gathering was led by TU Dublin’s School of Creative Arts in conjunction with European partners, arts agencies and organisations in Ireland and overseas. Public Art Now took place online as Public Art Now Conversations, a structured programme of six online conversations led by Irish and International practitioners from 24-26 June 2021.
The six conversations considered the relationships between public art practice, policy and its publics and took place at a time when Ireland’s Per Cent for Art Scheme was being revised. As such, the Public Art Now conference is structured by three key themes: Public Art: Processes and Politics; Public Art in the Anthropocene; Ecologies of Space and Place. Some keynote speakers include: Dr Ros Grey, (Senior Lecturer, Goldsmiths, University of London), Kerry Doyle (Director of the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts at The University of Texas) and Dr Marnie Badham (Artist and academic at RMIT Melbourne).
All six Conversations, plus a Featured Lecture from Kerry Doyle are available to view online.
