Last week new Employment and Training Co-Ordinator, Kathleen McCann, came on board on the Grangegorman project. Kathleen is replacing Anne Casey who very sadly passed away earlier this year.
Kathleen has experience of working with a range of socially and economically disadvantaged groups in a number of community, voluntary and non-governmental organisations in Ireland and the UK. She has had a career-long interest in tackling educational disadvantage, particularly at community level, and in supporting access to sustainable employment for individuals and groups distant from the labour market. Kathleen also has also worked in successful partnerships with public and private sector employers/employer organisations on the development of the workplace as a site of learning. Her most recent experience has been in managing a Youthreach Community Training Centre for young early school leavers in the Ballymun area.
