New CEO for the Grangegorman Development Agency

The GDA is delighted to announce that Mr. Michael Hand has joined the Agency as the new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hand takes over the reins at a crucial time in the project when the draft Strategic Plan is being finalised and the Agency is moving into the planning and design phase of the project.

Michael is a civil engineer by profession and is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Director. He comes to the GDA with a wealth of experience under his belt and previous roles include, Managing Director of Engineering for Ireland at WYG and Executive Chairman and Managing Director of P H McCarthy Consulting Engineers.

With over 30 years in the engineering and construction business, Michael has been involved in a variety of water, highways and development projects throughout Ireland. He is particularly identified with the technical delivery of major capital projects such as Dun Laoghaire Ferry Terminal, Dun Laoghaire Drainage, Galway City Wastewater Plant and a variety of water services projects for Dublin.

This is a great start to 2011 for the Agency and Michael and the rest of the team are looking forward to progressing the project and working with everyone involved on it this year.
