We were delighted to share that the Lower House has  received two awards in the last couple of weeks for our recovery of this 200-year-old Protected Structure in Grangegorman.

The GDA and TU Dublin received the ‘Working in Alliance’ award by the ‘International Construction Project Management Association’ (ICPMA) in Munich. To be awarded for ‘Working in Alliance’ is particularly special to GDA, as it reflects our Mission, Vision and particularly our Values of Collaboration, Delivery Focus, Design Quality, Integrity, and Sustainability.

We share this award, and the recognition of our efforts and achievements with our many colleagues at the Department of Further and Higher EducationResearch, Innovation and Science and those at Dublin City Council, along with our Design Team leaders Purcell Construction, FKP Architects, and our project delivery partners – without whom we could not have brought this Protected Structure back to life for a more inclusive University Community at Grangegorman.

The second award for the Lower House was presented to FKP Architects – Fitzgerald Kavanagh + Partners for winning the ‘Adaption and Re-Use’ category of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) Awards 2023!

The FKP Architects team led this project through some incredibly choppy waters; and we are very grateful to them for that. We are delighted that their leadership has been recognised; and thrilled for the current and future generations of students and staff of Technological University Dublin for whom we developed this project.
