Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit!
A Blessing of the Shamrocks was held in Grangegorman’s St Laurence’s earlier this week. In keeping with celebrating all things Irish, we took a closer look at another Irish saint – St Dymphna – who, as the patron saint for mental health, was a clear choice for one of St Laurence’s stained glass windows.
St Dymphna also has long ties with Geel in Belguim, which has been a model of community based mental healthcare for centuries. Find out more at https://www.gasthuismuseumgeel.be/en.
The story of St Dymphna is currently an exhibition in The National Gallery of Ireland running until 28 May.
