Grangegorman Histories hosted a day of exploration and creativity on Saturday 11th May at Phizzfest, offering sold-out guided historical walking tours of the Grangegorman site. Led by Chair Philip Cohen, the tours provided attendees with an in-depth look at the site’s rich history.
The tours complemented the moving poetry reading by Lianne O’Hara, who unveiled new poems commissioned by Grangegorman Histories. Her work poignantly documented the experiences of patients and staff at Grangegorman Mental Health Hospital. Accompanying her was Professor of Psychiatry Brendan Kelly, who provided a brief historical overview of Grangegorman and read from his latest book, Asylum: Inside Grangegorman.
The combination of historical insight and creative expression made for a memorable day at Phizzfest.
